The two Guy Arabs with Johannesburg fronts were the last Guys bought by Pontypridd who then favoured AECs for both single- and double-deck purchases. 88 is seen on Taff Street when this part was still two-way and is headed for Buarth Capel, which is what Red & White referred to as Estate Junction. It was just short of the Old Ynysybwl terminus and Pontypridd worked just three journeys there a day. The service had only recently moved to start from this location instead of Morgan Street.
