The roundabout at Mumps is nearing completion and the subways were open, but not finished, as railings are still to be added to the underpass.
409 is easily recognisable in this view as it was the only one of the batch still in service. These Crossley bodies were particularly susceptible to corrosion and the cost of overhauling this one led to work on the others being stopped.
The buildings behind 409 were not around much longer. The street sign can be seen for Albert Street, which ran parallel to and just behind the bus.
