This shot I find very satisfying as it combines one of my favourites buses and locations with excellent lighting and a well-laden bus leaning on the corner giving it life. 5336 was originally Oldham 436 and looked superb when new as the crimson and white livery was fully lined-out in poppy red. It is seen here on 23rd July 1976 in its last year of service, after which it ended up at the Greater Manchester Museum of Transport but sadly was only used for spares. It is on the 5 o'clock departure from Greenfield and the healthy load reflects the significant number of people still working in the village at that period and using the bus to return home. Nowadays departures at that time are lucky to see more than one or two passengers.
