This delightful shot captures the character of Oldham’s Crossley single-deckers very well and shows a lot of little-seen detail at the rear. It is interesting to compare with the rear view of the same bus when new elsewhere in the gallery (to find quickly just click on the registration in the keywords).
The rear destination blind was only a feature of single-deckers, with double-deckers just having a number/letter blind. The registration and characteristic “half-moon” are clearly seen and this photograph has even captured the illuminated direction indicator.
