This service was a much later introduction, not starting until late 1979. Oddly, it is in the September 1979 faretable but not in the November 1979 timetable. As the two Ford Transits entered service in September and November 1979 respectively it is almost certain that it was around that time this service started.
It left Pontypridd on Bridge Street and climbed Corn Stores Hill, turning right onto Pentrebach Road before turning into Graig-yr-Helfa very near the depot. However, the 1979 fare table shows the service running via Treforest and it is therefore possible it did that originally and was re-routed later.
The service in 1981 comprised but two journeys a day, so it's not surprising the route was not well photographed.
