Vehicle: Oldham 293 (DBU 293)
Location: Union Street West, Oldham
Date: unknown

293 is on an inbound journey and has stopped by the original King Street Baptist Church, demolished from March to May 1978 to make way for a new church and community centre which was estimated to cost £50,000 at the time. When demolishing the building an historic bottle containing two old newspapers dated 1880 was found. In its turn this was demolished to make way for the Metrolink extension into Oldham town centre.

The bus stop above the bus is of interest - the Express description applied to the 34 service which came into Oldham this way.
