I acknowledge that this is a poor shot. You'll have to forgive me, it's one of my first and taken in August 1966 with an Instamatic camera that was no good for moving subjects. The bus is one of Oldham's two Pennine-bodied Leyland Tiger Cubs but the main reason I have included this view is that it shows the Grotton Hotel in fairly original condition, most notably with the off-licence department still standing, visible on the extreme left. The hotel no longer exists in that form and has been converted to a Co-op store.
