This photograph provides a rare chance to compare the SELNEC sunglow orange and the darker shade used by GMT, as 5161 appears to only have had the lower deck repainted and still has the old SELNEC scheme on the upper deck, which as a consequence looks rather shabby. Given that this photograph dates from 5th June 1981 it means it is at least seven years since the upper deck was painted and probably several years more! (The darker orange was introduced only a few months after the formation of GMT in April 1974).
