This charming shot of Oldham 297 headed back to Oldham on the E in July 1963 captures the character of the service at that time very well. It is on Lees Road in Mossley and evidence can be seen of preparatory work to the widening of this stretch of road, which would spell the end for the lovely gas lamp. 297 was the last of the batch of ten of these buses to survive in original condition, 299 of the batch lasted longer but had received a second-hand body from a Southport Crossley.
