Subject: GMT 179 (RBU 179R)
Location: Oldham Mumps
Date: 7-Feb-1981

Symbolising the PTE's road and rail integration of the period is 179 heading into Oldham from Diggle whilst a Cravens DMU, so typical of the Manchester-Oldham-Rochdale line, passes overhead on 7th February 1981. As evidenced by the fresh stonework, this is the new bridge built at Mumps to permit the creation in 1970 of the roundabout we all knew and loved! Little did we expect that it would disappear.
