The similarity of the registrations of these two 1936 batches of English Electric-bodied TD4s must have caused quite a lot of confusion over the years. However, this shot reveals how they were visually much less easily confused, as the destination display was changed after the first batch to the style that became standard until the PD3s were delivered in 1964.

Both are working for Salford showmen having been withdrawn the same month, March 1950. 39 (BU 9263) ran for W. J. Stevens whilst 121 (BU 9622) worked for A. W. Price.
