Subject: Oldham C. T. 106 (106 HBU) Chassis: Leyland Titan PD3/5 Body: Roe H41/32F Location: Springhead, Jackson Street Date: c.1968
This photograph illustrates one reason not many photographs were taken at the old County End terminus - the sun was in the wrong direction for most of the day.
The building visible behind 106 is the 1853 Zion Methodist Church, demolished in 1979 and replaced by a new church opened in 1980. Due to dry rot this was again replaced by the current structure which opened on March 14th 1992.
From a photograph in the David Beilby collection, photographer unknown.
