This section features two batches of vehicles for Durban Corporation Transport which were bodied by English Electric in 1939/40.

The trolleybuses were to allow expansion of the fairly new trolleybus system in the City. Around the same time some Leyland trolleybuses were also ordered but due to wartime difficulties many of these never left England and instead ran their lives in London, dispensation being given to allow these eight-foot wide vehicles which were six inches wider than the legal maximum at the time.

The thirteen AEC 664Ts featured here were shipped as a complete batch but were not successful, problems with their bodywork leading to withdrawal in 1949/50.

I have little information on the Daimler COG6 vehicles and would welcome further details.
