Doncaster 352 (FNY 984) Greyfriars Road depot c1958 John Law

Subject: Doncaster C. T. 352 (FNY 984)
Chassis: Karrier W
Body: Roe H34/28R
Location: Doncaster, Greyfriars Road
Date: c.1958

Pontypridd 11 became Doncaster 352 after rebodying and this view seems to have been taken shortly after it entered service. It is parked on Greyfriars Road outside the depot and appears to be at one end of the unusual (and probably unique) three wire section of overhead.

11 was the first of the pair to be towed from Pontypridd to Doncaster and after a lot of difficulties with low bridges the upper deck of sister 10 was removed before starting the journey. Unlike 351, this bus retained its English Electric traction equipment to the end.
