Crosville National SNG 392 (the 'G' signifying that it had been rebuilt with a Gardner engine) drops down Greaves Street in Oldham with the old town hall in the background.

Although a timetable I have shows the official route out of Oldham as down Yorkshire Street and along St. Mary's Way, I believe this is at the beginning of a shorter route that was actually used (at least later) which would use Union Street, Ashton Road and the by-pass link road to reach Manchester Road.

From an original slide in the David Beilby collection, photographer unknown.
