177 still carries the Oldham coat-of-arms in this view. It is also showing a display for the 17 - not a route I associate with these buses which tended to be quite limited in their operation, mainly to the 22 and 153 in Oldham days. This was partly due to the long overhangs which caused problems with grounding at hilly road junctions (like the bottom of Lord Street), rather than narrow roads.
