The last days at Ashworth Street and the last days of the PD2s also. The new Clegg Street bus station and garage behind is not only finished, but can be seen to be occupied. Hence the bus stop at which North Western 251 waits will shortly cease to be used as the 153 moves to more hospitable surroundings.

251 was to be displaced by new Fleetlines which came to Oldham. Initially 188, 195 and 196 came to Oldham but the final deliveries of the 1966 batch, which arrived late on in the year, saw 209-214 become the permanent Oldham allocation. The initial Fleetlines displaced the three PD2s of this type and when the later ones arrived the number of Lolines reduced.
