Operator: Rotherham C. T. Fleet No: 44 Registration No: FET 618 Chassis: Daimler CTE6 Chassis No: 15885 Body: Roe H40/30R (1957) originally East Lancs B38C New: 1950 Withdrawn: 1963 Location: Ardwick, Bennett Street Date: 31-Dec-1966
Additional information: Rotherham 44 is on the section of wiring leading off Hyde Road along Bennett Street, which brought trolleybuses into the back of the garage. Alongside it is a tower wagon which has come from the same fleet. CET 440 was a Bristol L5G new in 1940 and numbered 157. Fitted with Rotherham's standard East Lancs B32C bodywork it was withdrawn in Dec-1956 and converted to a tower wagon. At the time I understand it was owned by the Maypine Trolleybus Company. It hasn't been active since the early seventies and its status is uncertain.
