The story of this service is far from complete yet as information is rather sketchy.

By 1947 a service was running on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays to The Foundry at Upper Boat. Even this terminal point is not clear and I am working on the assumption that this was the Melin-gorrwg foundry at the bottom of Dynea Road. I am also assuming the service came directly down Cardiff Road.

The service was extended in 1948 to serve the MAP hutments which were just up Heol Groeswen from the roundabout at Upper Boat. These were concrete prefabricated dwellings which I think were built to house workers at the aero engine facility at Nantgarw.

It was cut back to The Foundry about November 1954 and then ceased altogether about the end of 1958.

The MAP hutments have long been demolished and the site is now largely occupied by the A470(T).

Due to the lack of photographs on this service I have included some depot shots of vehicles with the correct destination display.
