5954 was a surpise visitor from Stockport and was only in Oldham for a short while. It was probably spare at Stockport due to school holidays and helping out at Oldham. On 17th August 1973 it is climbing Lees Road towards Clarksfield on the stretch of road that now has a bus lane, which runs where the houses on the right are in this photograph. There are still several mills and chimneys to be seen in the background, as well as good view towards Lydgate and beyond.
