Subject: Bridge over closed railway

The later goods yard at Werneth, which reached the corner of Featherstall Road and Middleton Road, was reached through this small bridge under West Street which served to obscure it from the main line through Werneth station. The line to the yard officially closed in 1966 but that part of the yard had already closed.

Despite its small size, a huge amount of traffic will have passed through this bridge.
