5891 was numerically the last PD3 delivered to Stockport and, in theory at least, the last open platform bus built for use in this country. This historic bus was transferred to Oldham, still in Stockport livery, in 1971 and spent most of its working life there. It is now preserved at the Manchester Museum of Transport. It is seen passing the Playhouse cinema in Miles Platting on the first journey on the morning of Sunday September 5th 1971.
