This view of one of the original batch (1-4) has been reproduced from a small contact print, with a consequent reduction in quality.
It shows the vehicle in original condition with a rubbing rail moulding along the side level with the top of the wheel arch. This meant the garter had to be positioned low down. Of interest is the weight information on the guard rail:
Unladen weight: 5.1.2 FA (front axle): 2.15.3 BA (back axle): 4.3.0
These weights would have been in tons, hundredweight and quarters, and the latter two would have been laden weights.
