On this day everybody not on Manchester 3655 (by this time with SELNEC) would be struggling with the new decimal currency as this was 15th February 1971, the day of the big change over. Except on the buses, where old currency remained in use for another week. It was good to see that you could get your chunky tumblers free with National Benzole at Dene Garage, once the operator of a single Mann Egerton-bodied Austin coach.
