Subject: Rhondda Buses 1063 (C97 AUB) Chassis: Ford Transit 190D Body: Carlyle B20F (on Dormobile shell) Location: Caerphilly bus station Date: c.1997
C97 AUB was bought from Tellings-Golden Miller in April 1996. It was numbered 1063 in the ancillary vehicles series as it was never intended for use in service. Instead it was to be used as a crew room at Caerphilly bus station as seen here, a permanent replacement for 20 which had been fulfilling the role since 1994 and 24 which had 'filled in' since 20's disposal.
Surprisingly, it received full Caerphilly Busways livery although without fleet names on the side. It survived the Stagecoach takeover but was sold not long after, by May 1998.
