254 is working the C9 service which by this date had become a Bargoed to Caerphilly service via Cefn Hengoed. In earlier Caerphilly Busways days it had just run from Bargoed to Ystrad Mynach and was a direct replacement for the Gelliagaer UDC and later Rhymney Valley service 5.
A small seating area is being created at the stopped-off end of Stockland Street. The grey column is the base for a sculpture which is yet to be added.
