Subject: City of Hull Tramways 101 Maker: English Electric, Preston, finished by Hull Corporation Truck: Rayner patent cardan-shaft drive Seating: 46/32 Location: Hull Date: c.1923
A detailed study of the platform with a driver in position. It appears the door is part of a two-piece assembly that prevents use of the front platform by passengers, the whole assembly then swinging to the right along the curved slot in the cab roof leading towards the circuit breaker, opening the platform and closing off the cab. Changing this over must have been hard work on Hull's relatively short routes.
