I would like to thank the unknown photographer for this marvellous shot in Blaenllechau, showing ND407 returning thence to Cardiff. The X9 only served Blaenllechau from 1986 to 1991.

ND407 had been new to Red & White at Cinderford depot as ND775 in Sep-1975 and was almost immediately renumbered ND4575 the following month. Renumbered again as ND1407 in Jan-1983 it received the number seen here in early 1986. It had more recently been based at Brynmawr depot.
