Additional information: Huddersfield's G1 class comprised 28 vehicles based on an order originally placed in 1941 (with long-term planning in mind). 548 was the last of the first batch of eight to arrive and is in original condition here without a ventilator in the central front window upstairs. Although Karrier production had ceased 541 carried a Karrier badge. It was withdrawn on 22-Aug-1960 and rebuilt as part of the R1(R) class, eight vehicles which had new East Lancs bodies fitted. These were the last new trolleybus bodies for Huddersfield and the last built for six-wheel chassis anywhere. As rebuilt 548 lasted until 11-Jul-1967.
