EX40 was one of the very early Leyland Nationals bought by SELNEC, the EX fleet number indicating an experimental series. Whilst Leyland Nationals became quite common in the SELNEC and GMT fleets, dual-door examples were confined to these prototypes, one of which is preserved at the Museum of Transport in Boyle Street. The blinds can't show 154A so they show 154x instead.
