The five single-deck Daimlers bought in 1950 by SHMD were lovely buses, full of character and it's a great shame none has survived. SHMD were the only municipality in the area to buy this half-canopy arrangement of single-decker postwar, although they were quite common pre-war (notably with North Western, Stockport and Manchester). The tiny number blind is struggling to do its job. The correct route number for journeys to Micklehurst was 154A. It was probably not even on the blind as it was a variant of the route introduced after the bus was built. 100 (originally 56) waits in Ashton St. Michael's Square.
