For some vehicles it was not possible to put the garter below the fleetname (it was normally positioned below the “full stop” between U and D). This applied to some Bristol Bs, the English Electric trolleybuses and other odd vehicles like 20 here. In these cases the garter was positioned centrally between the U and D and there was no “full stop”.
