Subject: Bradford C. T. 798 (BDJ 86)
Chassis: BUT 9611T
Body: East Lancs H35/28R
Location: Fairweather Green, Thornton Road
Date: 15-Aug-1965

The two photographs at this location caused quite a bit of head-scratching before I realised where they were, not helped by it being a location I knew quite well from the last days of Bradford trolleybuses and was unaware it had gone through drastic change so recently.

The road here became a dual carriageway not long after this photograph was taken and in the process the exposed tram tracks were covered over. This unusual 'gutter running' layout was a result of the 1922 rebuilding of the road here - previously the road (and tram tracks) had taken a line to the rear of the garage on the right.
