Subject: Bradford C. T. 798 (BDJ 86) Chassis: BUT 9611T Body: East Lancs H35/28R Location: Five Lane Ends, Bradford Road Date: 15-Aug-1965
The next point on the tour was captured by a different photographer who chose very carefully the least used section of overhead in this location to photograph in use.
The road to the right is Bradford Road and leads down to Greengates. Trolleybuses into the city from here would take the wiring that goes into the top right-hand corner - the section of wiring that 798 is using was only used for trolleybuses from either Saltaire or Greengates returning to one or the other of those destinations. This only happened in normal service in the early morning (particularly Sundays) when the Greengates service ran as a shuttle to here to connect with the Saltaire bus.
