Although in some ways the 5 is not one of the more interesting routes in Vienna, it has the huge advantage of crossing a large number of other routes. Hence if you only can manage one tram ride in Vienna, make it on the 5 and you will really appreciate the "traminess" of Vienna. It is also one of the longest-established tram routes in the city.
It is worked by B (and now B1) class ULF cars and E1s hauling c3 and c4 trailers, provided by Rudolfsheim and Brigittenau depots.
