Many people are enjoying a sunny afternoon in the Square, paying scant regard to AEC 638 as it passes, as it was such an everyday sight at the time.
Whilst the Manningham Lane services ran to Bingley and Crossflatts, the service was much augmented on the inner section, notably with workings on the 25 to Saltaire as exemplified here. In approximate terms, every alternate journey along Manningham Lane was a Saltaire short. Surprisingly the most frequent service seen on Manningham Lane (at least in 1961) was after 9 o'clock on a Saturday evening when there was a trolleybus to Saltaire every three minutes.
