The 38 is one of Vienna's more pleasant tram routes, finishing as it does in the picturesque district of Grinzing, still a centre of viticulture.
It was one of the last routes converted to ULF operation, with B and B1 cars first appearing on the service from 27th March 2010. Otherwise it is worked by E2 cars hauling c5 trailers - all trams come from Währinger Gürtel depot.
