North Western Alexander-bodied Dennis Loline III 905 is going from the depot to pick up service on the 14 - probably a changeover as it was a Sunday afternoon, 30th August 1970. Above the car that's behind it is the sign pointing to the Clegg Street depot and bus station that the bus will have just come from.

To the right Pheonix House is taking shape but isn’t yet open. The second building behind the bus (with the lighter finish upstairs) was once the showroom of Oldham Corporation Electricity Department and later Norweb. By the time of the photo they had moved to the new St. Peter’s Precinct.
