Subject: Bradford C.T. 625 (AAK 427) Chassis: AEC 661T Body: Northern Coachbuilders H30/26R Location: Bradford, West Street Date: 26-Apr-1957
In 1957 major sewer work was taking place in the city centre and as it approached Leeds Road there was a need to temporarily divert trolleybuses on the 89 service away from their usual terminus in Hall Ings. A new clockwise loop was therefore erected using George Street, West Street and Vicar Lane. This was used from 13th April to August 11th 1957 and 625 is seen here stopped in West Street during the early days of that diversion. The loop remained for emergency purposes for some time but was removed in November 1962.
