Buckley & Prockter advertised in school magazines, tailoring their advertising to suit the medium. This is from a 1950 issue of “The Kaskenian”, the magazine of East Oldham High School, located on Greengate Street. This was to relocate the following year to Counthill, in Watersheddings.

East Oldham High School was a short-lived title for the school, as up to 1947 it had been the Municipal High School and until 1930 the Municipal Secondary School and Pupil Teacher Centre.

Confusingly, after East Oldham High moved to Counthill the school was taken over by West Oldham High School and became Greenhill High School. That merged in 1966 with Hollinwood Secondary Modern School in 1966 on a new site to become Kaskenmoor School and the premises were then used as an annexe of Hathershaw School. It was re-established as Greenhill Comprehensive before closing in 1978.
