Subject: Prince Street under construction

The remodelling of the junction at Mumps involved the construction of a new road to provide access to the town centre. This was a development of Prince Street, which had previously been a very minor thoroughfare indeed.

In the distance can be seen the spire of the Parish Church of St. Mark in Glodwick and to the right, a reflection of the new population of the area, the Jamia Masjid Mosque on Greengate Street, probably the largest in Oldham.
