12 was one of four trolleybuses sold to Shields and is shown stored at the South Shields depot before being prepared for service there.

In front of it is Pontypridd 8 (GNY 301) which can be readily distinguished by the livery of blue with a silver roof, applied very late in its life.

Behind 12 is one of the six front-entrance Daimler COG5 with Weymann bodies bought by South Shields, a rather unusual combination. It was withdrawn the year of this photograph and may already be out of use.
