The Roe-bodied Olympian was the standard bus bought by West Yorkshire PTE for some years so it is not surprising to find them in this gallery. 5126 (B126 RWY) is also in the small bus station off Lever Street in Manchester.

The bus behind is of interest. New as SELNEC 7143 (XJA 534L) it became a promotional vehicle for GMPTE after deregulation and as such I believe survived to become the last to be owned by the PTE (at least until the more recent purchases of special vehicles for use on tendered services). In this guise it survived long enough to enter preservation, although it is yet to be restored.

From an original slide in the David Beilby collection, photographer unknown.
