One feature of the North Western era was the use of coaches on local services, mainly in the morning and evening peak. This Alexander Y-type Leopard would appear to be 145, but the picture is from a poor Instamatic negative and has been included more due to its historical interest. This type of vehicle was the standard coach for North Western and they went on to buy large numbers of them. As a young boy the eyeball ventilators above each seat were a source of great fascination!
