Subject: Pontypridd UDC 41 (FTG 1) and 45 (FTG 30)
Chassis: Bristol K6A (FTG 1) and Guy Arab II 5LW (FTG 30)
Body: Park Royal UH30/26R (FTG 1) and Northern Counties UH30/26R (FTG 30)
Location: Pontypridd, Broadway
Date: May-1958

An excellent opportunity to compare the two main types of utility motorbus body and chassis supplied to Pontypridd - at this date both are stll in their original condition. The deeper dome on the Northern Counties body was a distinctive feature.

The Guy chassis has a pronounced 'snout' to accommodate the Gardner 6LW engine although at the time 45 only had a 5LW engine, the larger engine being fitted in 1962. The Bristol has the high radiator which was standard until after the war.
