44 heads for Treforest on the trolleybus replacement service, albeit it wasn't a direct replacement as trolleybuses didn't run to Berw Road.
It is in original condition here apart from the dented front wing. It's clearly a warm day and every available ventilator is open, but unfortunately there weren't many on a utility body.
The van on the right is, I believe, a Fordson E494C belonging to Jeremy and Edwards and outside their shop. Later John's Cafe, partly visible to the left, expanded into these premises.
