This Bristol RE was new to Ribble as 1021 and spent some years with the company running in National white and then poppy red and white before moving to Crosville in 1983 where it received the number ERL 528. There are photographs of sister vehicles working for Ribble in the X12 gallery.

It has come up Wallshaw Street and along Partington Street to ease congestion at the Yelloway Coach Station (the picture is probably during Oldham Wakes but I have no date).

The bus is displaying a board for Butlin's at Filey in the windscreen. 1983 was the last year for this camp that was once the jewel in the crown of Billy Butlin's empire and as a consequence also the last year the coaches ran there.

From an original slide in the David Beilby collection, photographer unknown.
