This interesting view shows 87 on the original route from Caerphilly to join the A470 at the Cross Keys in Nantgarw. However, the road was severed just behind the photographer with the building of the A470(T) and the road from Caerphilly diverted to a new roundabout.

Taff-Ely buses got very close to here when they operated local services in the Taff's Well area with the two Ford Transits, as one of those services ran to Yr Hendre which is just off-camera to the left.
