Subject: Oldham Carnival parade

The crowds are lined up to watch the Oldham Carnival parade. I presume the fire engine was part of it - it is a Dennis F37 turntable ladder and was registered ABU 756B.

The photographic shop on the corner was Lawton Miller, a shop I used a lot and from which I bought a Pentax Spotmatic II camera in 1974.

Apologies to the young girl with the blonde hair leading the visible part of the parade. The emulsion has deteriorated and given her face a strange colour. Trying to correct it would make it worse so I’ve left it alone.
