Aberdare provided a double-decker which remained captive on the Ynysybwl service all day. It worked down from Aberdare and back in service but had to follow a different route to avoid the low bridge at Abercynon. Even this option was only possible following the lowering of the bridge near the Navigation at Abercynon.
